I am Claire Mushrow As a registered social worker, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals, families and groups. I seek to understand how peoples' needs, experiences and circumstances affect how they interact in the world around them. My approach is holistic, strength based and solution focused. I have a passion for connecting people with their own personal resources and community to facilitate improved wellbeing. I use multiple approaches including counselling skills and therapeutic social work to explore what is possible. I am continually engaging in new learning with extended professional development focusing on trauma informed practices, child development, counselling and supervision skills. I have completed a qualification in supervision. I am currently undertaking a Postgraduate in Health Sciences. I have spent a number of years working with children and families. I have a special interest in disabilities and those who find it difficult to "fit in". I have a personal experience of dyspraxia which gives me extra insight for strategies that work. I pride myself on being honest, realistic and hopeful in my approach. I have a natural curiosity which means I love hearing other people's stories, cultures and life experiences. I enjoy working with people and the opportunity of getting to know their unique qualities. I am also interested in how animals can assist us in our learning and understanding of ourselves. I work closely with other professionals as needed including counsellors, neurofeedback practitioners and an equine assisted learning service. |
